Dog hiking group in Colorado

A Hands-On Training Hike July 18th

If you've ever wished your dog walked a little better on Colorado trails, listened a little closer outdoors, or felt more like a true adventure partner, this hands-on dog training hike in Colorado is for you.

Join Very Amazing Dog Academy for Hike with Your Dog, a 3–4 hour hands-on Colorado dog hiking experience at Jim Creek Trail, a beautiful, dog-friendly trail perfect for learning, practicing, and building confidence together. This guided dog hiking group in Colorado is designed for dog owners who want to explore the outdoors while improving their dog's trail manners, recall, and confidence.

We'll aim to cover the full trail, but there's no rush, we'll take it slow and steady. The goal isn't finishing fast; it's creating a positive Colorado hiking experience with your dog where you can bond, train, and connect with other adventure-loving dog owners.

Why This Hike?

A regular walk gets your dog some exercise. This hands-on training hike gives you both something more: real skills, real confidence, and a real connection with your dog and with a community of people who love getting outside as much as you do.

This isn't a lecture. It's a guided hike where every stop becomes a lesson.

What You'll Learn

🐕 Pet First Aid Essentials Know what to do (and what to carry) if something goes wrong on the trail.

🧘 Pre/Post-Hike Stretching Simple stretches for you and your dog to prevent injury and recover better.

⚠️ Recognizing Outdoor Injuries Learn the early signs of strain, paw damage, overheating, and more — before they become serious.

🌲 Wildlife Stewardship & Trail Etiquette How to hike responsibly, protect the landscape, and be a good neighbor to other trail users.

🎓 On-Trail Training Techniques Practical, in-the-moment training to improve recall, leash manners, and focus — exactly where it matters most.

Why It's Worth It

This is a 3-4 hour hands-on training hike packed with real education, expert guidance, and trail time — for $60. You're not just paying for a walk. You're investing in skills that'll make every future hike with your dog easier, safer, and more enjoyable.

Building Community, One Trail at a Time

Beyond the training, this hike is about building a supportive Colorado dog community. We're creating a local dog hiking group in the Fraser Valley and Grand County area where dog owners can connect, share outdoor adventures, and help their dogs thrive on the trail.

Whether you're new to hiking with your dog or you're already part of the Colorado outdoor community, this is a chance to meet like-minded people, discover new trail partners, and become part of a growing group of adventure dogs and their humans.
